A new Interlibrary Loan system is here!

On Wednesday, March 22, we will be migrating to a new Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service that is more closely integrated with our library search system.

What's the same?

For the most part, the new system will work like the current system:

  • Request forms will be automatically filled in when using the Request Item button in library search
  • Articles will be delivered to your account for you to download
  • Books and other physical items will be picked up at the Information Desk

What's different?

Article PDFs are only available for 5 views or 30 days. We recommend downloading articles as soon as they are received for long term storage.

Patrons at PCS and other remote campuses will need to select their campus with each request. Selecting the campus will help speed the process of mailing your items to you. Also, the default mailing address will be the permanent address on record with the College. Patrons wishing to specify a preferred mailing address will need to do so in each request.

What you need to do now

Log into your current ILL account and download any articles you want to keep. Existing articles will be available for download until April 20, 2017.

Save your request history, if desired. Your request history will not transfer to the new system. You can copy your request history and paste it into a spreadsheet. (A short demo video is coming soon!)

What you need to do after we go live

After the new system is live on March 22, log into your new ILL account and set your communication preferences. These preferences will allow you to receive email or text notices about your requests.
