- Understand and be able to apply the scientific method of inquiry
- Develop sufficient writing skills to publish their research in a peer-reviewed journal
- Be adept at searching the current scientific literature
- Be able to demonstrate the understanding of relevant exercise physiology laboratory research concepts
- Be able to understand from a mechanistic perspective, the basic physiological functioning of the human body during short duration and long duration exercise
- Be able to describe and explain the body’s responses to acute exercise and its adaptation to chronic training in order to maximize potential
