Community Service Fair – second week of fall semester classes

The Community Service Fair is held in conjunction with the Club Fair every fall semester. Representatives from area human service agencies are on hand to talk about their organizations and volunteer opportunities. Students can sign up to volunteer with the organizations or simply get more information as to some of the service opportunities in Springfield.

Halloween Event - late-October

Each year around Halloween, we work with the Humanics in Action Club and other various student clubs and organizations to host a fun, family-friendly Halloween event. Children and their parents are escorted by student volunteers go trick-or-treating on campus. They then return to a central location for games, activities, and treats. This event is open to Springfield College employees and the community.

National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week – mid-November

Each year, one week before Thanksgiving, The National Coalition for the Homeless and the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness co-sponsor National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. During this week, Springfield College students take part in a nationwide effort to bring greater awareness to the problems of hunger and homelessness. Past events have included an Oxfam Hunger Banquet as well as a "faces of homelessness" panel presentation and making bag lunches for the homeless in Springfield.

Random Acts of Kindness Week – February

Random Acts of Kindness Week is dedicated to being a springboard for action by focusing on the spirit of hope and goodness. While some programs are organized for volunteers, this week is mainly a time to be open and to act upon thoughts of generosity that arise spontaneously. How about making a thank you card for your favorite dining hall staff member or baking brownies for the facilities staff that clean your residence hall? What can you do to appreciate the everyday kindness shown to you?

Earth Week – April

Earth Week is an opportunity for the awareness and promotion of environmental issues both on and off campus. Activities vary each year and past years have involved local cleanup efforts, speakers, and programming.
