Graduate Adapted Physical Education Program Outcomes

Goal 1 : Graduates will be able to apply advanced content knowledge in: (a) planning curriculum and instruction for diverse learners; (b) delivering effective instruction; (c) managing classroom climate; and (d) promoting equity. 

  • SLO 1 : Apply knowledge of individual needs when planning curriculum and instruction, delivering instruction, and managing classroom climate. 
  • SLO 2 : Apply developmentally appropriate strategies to deliver effective instruction for diverse learners in physical education settings. 

Goal 2 : Graduates will satisfy requirements to sit for and pass the APENS exam to earn the title Certified Adapted Physical Educator.

  • SLO 5 : Demonstrate content knowledge in adapted physical education, including in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • SLO 6 : Successfully complete fieldwork experience. 

Goal 3 : Graduates will be competent researchers in the field of adapted physical education.

  • SLO 8 : Review lines of research within physical education.
  • SLO 9 : Design and conduct a research project.
  • SLO 10 : Present findings and implications from research in varied modes (verbal, written) in a professional manner.
