Exercise Science & Sports Studies

Primary Responsibilities (80%)      

Teaching

Assisting with classroom instruction (e.g., grading quizzes/tests or other course assignments).

Scheduling and maintaining regular office hours for tutoring or assisting students who need additional help or resources.

Assisting with fieldwork site visits and applied observations.

Research

Assist Dr. Hutchinson with scholarly activity, to include; preparing materials for IRB review, participant recruitment and scheduling, data collection, data entry, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.

Assist in the provision of applied sport and exercise psychology services (e.g. behavioral interventions) with local entities and for field based research studies.

Assist with preparation of grant submissions to funding agencies and foundations.

Secondary Responsibilities (20%)

Assist in the coordination and record keeping pertaining to student fieldwork assignments.

Assist with program evaluation and assessment of the graduate program objectives and outcomes.

Assist the program director in the areas of program recruitment and retention, which may include representing the program at open houses and off-campus recruiting events, managing inquiries and applications, maintaining a social media presence and alumni connection for the program, and meeting with potential students during campus visits.

Compensation amount listed is for doctoral candidates only. 

 


Fellowship Required Qualifications

The graduate teaching fellow for this position must have a strong background in Exercise and Sport Psychology.  Willingness to participate in scholarly research, which will include early morning and weekends activates is required.

The Fellow must be a full-time graduate student at Springfield College in good standing and in a field of study related to the fellowship.
