International Center

Primary Responsibilities:

The International Assistant in the International Center is responsible for assisting the staff of the International Center with the day-to-day operations, including communications with international applicants, management of admissions materials, preparation of orientation programs and organization of cultural activities.

Secondary Responsibilities: 

  • Respond to enquiries from prospective students
  • File management for prospective, new and continuing students
  • Data management
  • Prepare materials and participate as a leader of New International Student Orientation for Fall and Spring semesters
    • Some airport or bus/train station pickup
    • Assisting new students with adapting to the new environment
  • Prepare publicity and assist with the organization of major international cultural events
  • Serve as a resource for international students
  • Answer phone and complete other office tasks at the request of the Administrative Assistant

Fellowship Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Good English communication skills
  • International/Intercultural living experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills
  • Driver’s license and car a plus

Position Requirements:

Applicant needs to be a full time graduate student at Springfield College. Able and willing to be van certified by the college. Flexible schedule with some evening and weekends.

Hours per week:                    10 hours per week
