Physician Assistant Program

Primary Responsibilities:

Applicants for the position must have the skills and ability to assist faculty with the following:

  • Assist with practical lab set up and practical exam set up.
  • Assist in simulation lab.
  • Coordinate student evaluation duties on day of exam for the History and Physical and Applied Clinical Skills courses. 
  • Update test bank questions in the test bank as requested.
  • Collect and monitor student tracking requirements on E-Value
  • Grading of assignments, paying attention to correct spelling and grammar.
  • Assist faculty with special projects, which may include, curriculum development, faculty research, or finding and organizing student resources.
  • Managing Moodle Classroom with grade entry and assignment collection.
  • Supervise undergraduate classes in faculty absence.

Secondary Responsibilities: 

Administrative duties include but are not limited to:

  • Survey creation as directed.
  • Update surveys (graduate, preceptor and exit) on Qualtrix and coordinate mailing of the surveys.
  • Collect and summarize survey results
  • Student notification memos.
  • Assisting faculty members with doing administrative duties associated with maintaining records related to clinical rotation scheduling and evaluation and including writing letters.
  • Other office management tasks, such as preparing mailings, copying, filing and phone coverage when needed etc. And any other duties assigned.

Fellowship Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Maturity, initiative, and sound judgment regarding personal and professional phone contact with clinical preceptors.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to maintain ethical and professional behavior in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, preceptors, guest lecturers etc.
  • Computer skills: Word processing, mail merge, database design, maintenance, and some spreadsheet work.

Position Requirements:

Graduate Fellows must be a full-time graduate student at Springfield College in good standing. Graduate Fellows must be available to work during regular office hours - weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. throughout the academic year. Ideal candidates will have Thursday morning availability.

Given the nature of the position, PA graduate students are not eligible to apply.
