40 Under 40 - Nicholas G. Myers '01
How has having a Springfield College degree impacted you professionally?
I am very proud to be a graduate of SC. It is humbling to be a part of an elite teaching and coaching fraternity that exists of SC grads.
Who influenced you when you were a student at Springfield College and explain the role they played in your life?
Keith Bugbee gave me the opportunity to play at Springfield College. Assistant Coach John Klepacki gave me my work ethic, Assistant Coach Jason Miller gave me my passion and drive, Assistant Coach Dan Cetrone influenced my professionalism, and Coach Sweet developed me as player and a man.
Charlie Sullivan definitely inspired me, plus all the amazing people in the PE department.
If you could share one piece of advice with today's current Springfield College student, what would it be?
Go for it! Maximize every opportunity that SC offers. The curriculum at SC is very different than most places but you will appreciate all the hard work you put in one day and realize how prepared you are. Don't settle on an opportunity while you are young. Go big right out of college and chase whatever dream you have!
Who do you want to thank personally for the role they have played in your success?
My brother, Pat Myers; my wife Julie Myers ’03, my parents Fred Myers and Miriam Myers-Burch; my stepfather Charlie Burch, who introduced me to lacrosse; and my stepmother June Myers.
My high school basketball coach Pat Moody, my best friends and teammates Jeff Zella ’01 and Brian Dalton ’01, all my SC lacrosse teammates, and UNC Lacrosse Head Coach Joe Breschi.
