February 2017

Dear Class of ’92,

Now that the holidays are behind us, we can look forward to some winter activities, the arrival of spring, and the Class of 1992 25th Class Reunion!! It is going to be wonderful to reconnect with old friends and roommates, reminisce and make new memories with those who were and are such a special part of our lives.

If you haven’t been on campus in a while, NOW is the time to come back. This is an exciting time for Springfield College. Many changes have taken place on campus, even since our last reunion. You will be proud to see all that President Mary-Beth Cooper is doing for our Alma Mater!

We are counting on YOU to make THIS the Best Reunion yet!

As a friendly reminder, here is some key information to make note of:

SAVE THE DATE: Reunion Weekend is June 8-11, 2017. These are 3 days of activities for you and your family including our class dinner, a casual barbecue style setting for the whole family to enjoy, games and activities on the Ad Green, a kazoo parade (ha ha….just kidding), a silent auction and a Boardwalk Extravaganza! There will be many more activities that will be detailed in the registration material that will be sent out in April.

LET US KNOW YOU’RE COMING: If you haven’t done so already, please fill out and return the pre-response form. This is not a formal registration, but it will give us an idea of how many of us will be attending and how to plan. For your convenience, a second copy of the form is included here. Please return in enclosed reply envelope if you have not yet done so.

CONSIDER A GIFT: ***As of right now, 31 of our classmates committed to making a gift and we are more than halfway to our $25K class goal! Imagine what we can raise if we reach our goal of 100 classmates donating. We can do this!! Once again, it’s a very personal decision, but any amount will help us reach our class goal. No amount is too small. If you have already made your contribution, thank you! You may want to consider making your gift on Springfield College’s “Giving Day” taking place on March 1.

Some notes on Giving Day

  • Last year 1,291 donors gave a collective $242,037 in 24 hours. The goal is to have 1,300+ participants this year!
  • Any gift of $10 or more counts. Gifts may be designated to either the Springfield College Fund (which covers the greatest needs of the college, a majority of which goes to financial aid), Friends of East Campus or Friends of Athletics.
  • How to make a gift:
    • Online from 12:01 a.m. – midnight on 3/1 at www.springfield.edu/givingday .
    • Call 1-800-622-6072 or 413-748-3124 between 8:00 a.m. and midnight.
    • In person at Giving Day Headquarters in the Campus Union from 8:00 a.m. to midnight.

PLACES TO STAY: There is a block of rooms reserved at the Holiday Inn in Enfield, CT (860-741-2211). A special group rate of $99/night + tax is available for reservations made by 5/8/17. Be sure to mention the Springfield College Reunion when making your reservation. You can also bunk in Alumni Hall. On campus housing information will be included in the registration brochure which you will receive in April.

REACH OUT: Whether it is for one event or the entire weekend, we want to see you! Contact all of your old teammates, roommates and classmates to bring everyone home to reconnect for a great experience back on campus.

November 20, 2016

Dear Classmates,

As you prepare for the holiday season and time with your families, the Springfield College Class of ‘92 Reunion Planning Committee is working hard to make plans for our family to get together by the shores of Massasoit. We hope that you will mark your calendars to come back home for our 25th reunion June 8-11, 2017.

The reunion planning committee met with the Alumni Relations office at Homecoming in October and held the first of several conference calls. We eagerly anticipate your arrival and hope that you can take steps to join us:

  • Step 1: Reconnect with classmates, teammates, etc. and make plans to attend our 25th reunion.

  • Step 2: Secure your accommodations: The alumni office has put aside a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn in Enfield, CT. Call 860-741-2211 and mention Springfield College Class of 92 Reunion to secure your discounted room rate ($99/night) with a major credit card. Reservations must be made by 5/8/17 to receive the special rate. Or you may re-live dorm life (on-campus reservations are made through the official Reunion registration brochure which will be mailed to you in April. Rate TBD).

  • Step 3: Give a gift- whatever you can afford. We are aiming for 92% class participation and ask that you consider a gift of $92.00. Your generous gift to SC is one that will have immediate and long-term impacts. Today, it will change the lives of students allowing SC to continue their mission educating students in spirit, mind and body- a tradition that has endured for more than 131 years. Tomorrow, your gift will impact the world and the individuals that SC graduates will serve. Gifts may be made at springfield.edu/gift.

  • Step 4: Check out our Facebook page for continued updates: Springfield College, Class of ’92
