COVID-19 Testing Update | Springfield College

November 20, 2020

Dear Students,

We are writing with information specifically for students who have remained on campus or in the Springfield area for the past week. We are including all students in the message as we know some have left campus but remained in the local area, and some students rent locally.

We have been notified by the Broad Institute that COVID-19 test processing has been delayed for the past few days. This means that the 14-24 hour turnaround time that we have become accustomed to is now taking longer.

If you were tested at the Health Center on Wednesday, November 18th, we anticipate you will have your results by 5:00pm this evening (Friday).

If you were tested at the Health Center on Thursday, November 19th, we anticipate you will have your results on Saturday afternoon.

We have not been guaranteed by the Broad Institute of these times for results, but we estimate that you will be notified in this timeframe.

If you are currently living on campus and this delay impacts your travel plans, please know you may stay in your residence hall through Saturday, or until you receive your test results. If you will need to stay on campus beyond the scheduled 5:00pm closing today (Friday), please complete this form.
