Shelter-in-Place Update | Springfield College

November 8, 2020

Dear Community,

I am writing to confirm that we are lifting the campus-wide Shelter-in-Place restriction tomorrow morning (11/9). Buildings will be open on campus. In-person dining will be allowed. Athletics will resume. However, classes will remain remote for the rest of the semester.

Gulick Hall

Gulick Hall will end their quarantine on Tuesday, 11/10 at 4:00 p.m., so their restrictions remain in place until then.

Residence Halls

Please be reminded that only students who indicated that they would be remaining on campus can be on campus.

Weekly Testing

All students remaining on campus and commuters who come to the campus MUST be tested this week and next week. No appointments are necessary. The hours are:

  • Monday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Occupancy Limits

Please remember that COVID Occupancy limits remain in effect in all residence halls.

Wellness Center

The Wellness Center hours will be 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Mon-Fri, and noon - 4 p.m. on weekends.

Learning Commons

The Learning Commons will remain in 24-hour study mode allowing students access to the first and second floors. Note: The Learning Commons is not limited by the state restrictions (listed below).

State Restrictions

The governor has instituted additional state restrictions in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus. All buildings on campus will close by 9:30 p.m. There is also a stay-at-home advisory from 10 p.m. - 5 a.m. (except for addressing health needs, grocery shopping, or to take a walk).

If you have any questions, please contact us at studentaffairs@springfield.edu. Thanks again for all your cooperation. Enjoy the weather during the start of this week!

Sincerely,

Patrick
