Update to Face Covering Mandate | Springfield College

Sept. 10, 2021

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

On September 9, Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno announced new city-wide face covering mandates to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Springfield College will continue to require all students, faculty, and visitors to wear masks when inside campus buildings, regardless of vaccination status. Members of the Springfield College community who are exempted from vaccination must wear their masks at all times while on campus – both indoors and outdoors. To comply with the city mandate, face coverings will now be required outdoors on campus when social distancing of six-feet or more is not possible. This new mandate will go into effect on Monday, September 13 and we expect that members of the Springfield College community will self-monitor and mask up outside when you cannot maintain social distancing.

We are actively monitoring local, state and federal guidance and we will continue to keep you informed. Please continue to check the College’s main COVID information page and our dashboard for more comprehensive information and updates. As always, safety continues to be our top priority.
