On-campus COVID-19 Testing Available for Employees | Springfield College

September 23, 2021

Dear Colleagues,

As you know, COVID-19 testing has always been available to unvaccinated employees with a medical or religious exemption and to those who fall within our contact tracing protocol. In response to employees' request for greater access to on-campus testing, we have opened testing more broadly to include employees who fall outside of these two groups. Starting Monday, September 27th, employees who work on the main campus will be able to obtain a COVID-19 test on campus during the following days and times:

  • Mondays: 2-5pm

  • Wednesdays and Thursdays: 9:30-11:30am and 1-3pm

The employee testing times will soon be listed on the COVID-19 webpage. Holidays may impact these hours. Testing will take place on a walk-in basis in the PE Annex (239 Wilbraham Ave), located next to the Towne Health Center. Please note that there may be a wait based on the number of participants. Test results may take longer than usual due to the Broad Institute's processing time. There is no need to contact the Health Center prior to coming for testing.

The priority of the Health Center remains student testing as we work to increase capacity. We have made this list of test sites available to employees who are unavailable during the designated on-campus testing times. Please note that at the moment, the Health Center is unable to accommodate requests for testing outside of the designated employee hours. We will evaluate the expanded testing structure within two weeks to see how it is working.

Our priority remains the health and safety of our students and employees.

Sincerely,
