COVID Reminders | Springfield College

September 24, 2021

Dear Students,

I am writing with a few reminders about our COVID-19 protocols. As you know, face coverings are required both indoors and outdoors (when six-feet social distancing is not possible) regardless of vaccination status. Unvaccinated individuals must wear their mask at all times regardless of social distance.

Classrooms

We have heard from faculty that some students are not wearing their masks, or not wearing them properly, inside the classroom. Please note that faculty may ask students to leave their class for noncompliance with COVID protocol and/or refer them to the conduct process. Faculty may also restrict eating and drinking in the classroom.

Townhouses

It came to our attention that there were several students in the backyard this past weekend without a mask on. This is not acceptable. The health and safety of our community is the utmost priority. We hope to not impose additional restrictions, choosing instead to trust students to make responsible choices. However, please know that we may be forced to evaluate our policies if there continues to be a disregard for established protocols.

It is the responsibility of all of us to keep this community as safe as possible and to hold each other accountable to the established protocols.

Please continue to check the College’s main COVID information page. Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Dr. Slandie Dieujuste
