Dan Fraizer, PhD, has been teaching writing courses and directing writing support activities at Springfield College since 1995. For 10 years, he directed the Writing Center, training and supporting student tutors who worked one-on-one with all students. He implemented Writing Studio, a nationally recognized alternative to basic or remedial writing courses, at the College, and also led many Writing Across the Curriculum initiatives, including writing workshops and writing policy changes. Fraizer has long been interested in the political and social uses of writing as they affect people in their communities and the way writing is taught at the college level.
