Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN)

Borrowers are required to complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) before federal Direct loan funds are disbursed to the student's college account. Borrowers will sign one promissory note that will be used for all federal Direct loans borrowed while the student attends Springfield College. The MPN covers loans borrowed over a ten-year period.

If you experience any problems while attempting to sign your MPN electronically, please call applicant services at 800.557.7394.

To complete and sign your MPN, please go to studentaid.gov; click on the Undergraduate Students tab. Here you will see the link to Complete federal Direct Subsidized/federal Direct Unsubsidized Master Promissory Note.

If you prefer to sign a paper MPN, or if you are unable to use the electronic signature process, a paper MPN will be mailed to you after the loan has been created.

After the promissory note is accepted by the Loan Origination Center, the loan funds will be ready for disbursement to your college bill.
