Call for Proposals

Unity Fest 2018 is seeking faculty, staff, and student scholar proposals for projects or special performance objectives that promote understanding and awareness in: 

  • African-American History
  • Popular Music and Culture
  • Hip-Hop Studies
  • Political Science
  • Race and Whiteness Studies
  • Journalism
  • and related fields

We encourage submissions in all context areas of leadership development. You are invited to submit a proposal for a breakout session or roundtable/panel discussion. 

All proposals should include and will be evaluated on the basis of the following:

  • Engaging program format that involves the audience and stimulates discussion and is applicable to leadership and development
  • Conceptually strong foundation, well-written, with clearly stated outcomes and appropriately documented theory, research, and/or experience in subject matter
  • Clearly stated purpose and objectives
  • Creativity in an approach to a situation or in ways to address/manage it and adaptability of ideas to a variety of institutional/educational settings
  • Reflective of good practices
  • Presentation titles should be descriptive of the content of the sessions, abstracts should be between 200-250 words
