Get to know Marisol Guevara

Marisol Guevara, EdD, is the Assistant Director for Recruitment and Outreach at our Springfield campus.

"The greatest reward about my job is to meet individuals committed to helping others and assisting them in reaching their academic goals. Through our degree programs, their skills and abilities are enhanced and as a result, their confidence level is elevated. After graduation, they become better role models for their families, communities, and co-workers."

Marisol Guevara has been working in outreach and recruitment at Springfield College, School of Professional and Continuing Studies for the past 13 years. She is a big proponent of education as a way to professional freedom, and participates in local and national conferences promoting higher education to adults involved in what she calls “the field of helping.” Marisol recently earned her Doctor of Education from Northeastern University in International Higher Education Administration after defending her dissertation entitled "Cultural Competence and Human Services Professionals."

She also earned her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Administration through University of Massachusetts Amherst, her Master of Arts in Human Resource Development from American International College, and her Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Springfield College.
