Get to know Raúl Lorenzo

Raúl Lorenzo is an assistant director for recruitment and outreach at Springfield College Tampa Bay.

Lorenzo has 16 years of experience in college admissions, enrollment management, and higher education recruitment.  His background includes being the Associate Dean of Admissions at Hampshire College, Assistant Director of Admissions at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Director of Upward Bound (a college preparatory program for high school students) at Holyoke Community College.  Lorenzo's experience has given him a distinct understanding of the inner workings of admissions and financial aid at large public universities, private independent liberal arts colleges, and 2-year community colleges. Lorenzo has been recognized for his ability to connect well with a broad range of students as they plan for and transition into college life.

Lorenzo also worked in the private sector where he advised colleges and universities in strategically identifying and reaching untapped student markets while increasing enrollment. 

Lorenzo has conducted national workshops and presentations for industry leaders on the challenges and opportunities of reaching, communicating with, and retaining students of color.  Lorenzo is a proud alumnus of Northfield Mount Hermon School and holds a BA in psychology from Wheaton College in Massachusetts.
