The Springfield College exercise physiology program has a prestigious reputation both nationally and internationally. Students take a variety of physiology courses aimed at giving them a broad grasp of the field of exercise physiology. They also take classes in the research sequence which prepare them to critically analyze the current literature and design research studies to add to the body of literature with the goal of publication in the field of exercise physiology. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared to seek employment in the field or to continue their education in a related allied health field or a relevant doctorate.

Students in the exercise physiology program can focus on clinical exercise physiology or applied exercise physiology

Xiangyu Zheng

"Three years ago, I switched my major from a totally irrelevant discipline to Exercise Physiology master's program here at Springfield College. I'm so glad that I made the right decision back then and I'm so grateful that this program has well prepared me for my future and offered me a second chance to choose another career.  Now I'm ready to go for my Ph.D. with all the education at Springfield College under my belt!"

"The faculty members of the Exercise Physiology program have demonstrated their concern for my personal and professional growth by including me in their research efforts and advising me on my own. Professors in the department are approachable and helpful while encouraging students to strive for their best performance in the program and thereafter. The interdisciplinary approach exercised by the faculty members has allowed me to teach several labs. As a graduate student, I have been helped by every faculty member in the department in my learning, teaching, and researching efforts. "My time at Springfield College has proven that choosing Springfield was the best decision for myself and my future. The internships I have completed through my program have provided me with the knowledge and hands-on experience that I will need to be successful in my field. My classes are taught by extremely knowledgeable and passionate professors who care greatly about student progress. I've also had access to amazing facilities on campus such as the Human Performance Lab, which I used to collect data for my thesis. Springfield College, specifically the Exercise Physiology program, has provided me with the resources, skills, and opportunities to obtain my degree and pursue a career I am passionate about."
