The philosophy that recreation and leisure experiences are essential to the physical, emotional, psychological, and social development of all individuals is at the core of our therapeutic recreation management program. You’ll develop a variety of skills that can be implemented in clinical and non-clinical settings, including medical, surgical, and psychiatric hospitals; senior centers; child-life programs; mental health agencies; shelters; vocational training centers; correctional facilities; and long-term care and nursing home settings.

By completing this program, you’ll have met all educational requirements to be certified by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). The child-life specialization is no longer available.
