Scholarship Opportunities

General Scholarships
These federal grants are administered by the College and awarded to high-need, undergraduate students. Awards vary depending on the student's need and the level of federal funding the College receives. Students must be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant to be considered for the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant. Priority is given to students who have a zero expected federal contribution per federal formula and who also lack other resources (including access to loans) to meet basic tuition charges. The second priority for awarding is given to students who have a zero expected federal contribution per federal formula who also have extremely low incomes.
Legacy Award
A one-time award of $2,000 (split between the first two semesters of the first year) to any enrolling student seeking a degree (at least 6 semester credits for an undergraduate and 4.5 credits for a graduate) who has a child, sibling, parent, or grandparent (including step-family members) who is a previous graduate or currently enrolled student of Springfield College. (Only one award per student regardless of the number of family members attending or previously receiving degrees.)
Partnership Grants
Employees of partnership organizations who are enrolled in any regional or online campus degree program at Springfield College may be eligible to receive a partnership grant of up to $5,000. In addition, if a student employee enrolls in any bachelor's, master's, doctoral, or Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study degree at the main campus, they may be eligible for a partnership grant of up to $10,000. These grants have been established by Springfield College to support the education of partnership employees in leadership in service to others. Students must provide information to confirm eligibility.

National Scholarships
American Indian College Fund – Full Circle Scholarship
The American Indian College Fund – Full Circle Scholarship provides scholarships for undergraduate education to tribal citizens and their descendants who are enrolled on a full-time basis and demonstrate financial need. Awardees are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Application materials include an application, transcript, tribal affiliation, and Financial Needs Analysis Form.
American Legion Auxiliary – Nontraditional Student Scholarship
The American Legion Auxiliary – Nontraditional Student Scholarship provides one scholarship per legion division with a maximum value of $2,000 for undergraduate or technical education to nontraditional students who demonstrate financial need. Application materials include an application, transcript, tribal affiliation, and Financial Needs Analysis Form.
Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund
The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund provides scholarships of $2,000 to $15,000 for undergraduate education to prospective students of Asian or Pacific Islander heritage who demonstrate financial need. Awardees are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.7 to 3.0. Application materials include an application, transcript, FAFSA, and letter of recommendation.
Dr. Angela E. Grant Scholarship Fund
The Dr. Angela E. Grant Scholarship Fund provides 1-3 scholarships for associate's education or higher to cancer survivors who are enrolled on a full-time basis and demonstrate financial need. Application materials include an application, transcript, and two letters of recommendation.
Association on American Indian Affairs Scholarship Fund
The Association on American Indian Affairs Scholarship Fund provides 60 scholarships for associate's education or higher to tribal citizens who are enrolled on a full-time basis and demonstrate financial need. Awardees are required to have earned a minimum grade of "C" in all courses. Application materials include an application, transcript, and tribal affiliation.
American Association of Retired Persons Scholarship Fund
The American Association of Retired Persons Scholarship Fund provides 350 scholarships with a maximum value of $5,000 for undergraduate and technical education to prospective women students age 50 who demonstrate financial need. Priority is assigned to women who are unemployed or underemployed.
American Association of University Women – Career Development Grants
The American Association of University Women – Career Development Grants provides scholarships of $2,000 to $12,000 for a second undergraduate degree, graduate education, or certificate program to women seeking career re-entry or advancement. Priority is assigned to women of color and women in nontraditional occupations. Application materials include an application, transcript, letter of recommendation, and student budget.
American Association of University Women – Selected Professions Fellowships
The American Association of University Women – Selected Professions Fellowshipsprovides scholarships of $5,000 to $18,000 for graduate education to women in nontraditional fields such as architecture, computing, engineering, and mathematics as well as women of color in business, law, or medicine. Applicants are required to demonstrate financial need. Priority is assigned to women of color and women in nontraditional occupations. Application materials include an application, three letters of recommendation, and student budget.
Association for Nontraditional Students in Higher Education Scholarship Program
The Association for Nontraditional Students in Higher Education Scholarship Programprovides four scholarships for undergraduate and graduate education to ANTSHE members who are nontraditional students currently enrolled in higher education. Applicants must be nominated by an ANTSHE member.
Business & Professional Women’s Foundation – Business & Professional Women’s Career Advancement Scholarship
The Business & Professional Women’s Foundation – Business & Professional Women’s Career Advancement Scholarship provides 60 scholarships of $1,000 to $2,500 for undergraduate and graduate education to women age 25 or younger who are enrolled in a business, education, humanities, or social sciences degree program. seeking career re-entry or advancement. Priority is assigned to women of color and women in nontraditional occupations. Application materials include an application, transcript, letter of recommendation, tax form, and Student Aid Report.
Executive Women International – Adult Students in Scholastic Transition
The Executive Women International – Adult Students in Scholastic Transition provides scholarships for undergraduate and graduate education to nontraditional students who reside within proximity to an EWI Chapter (e.g., Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Philadelphia), are parents or guardians, and demonstrate financial need. Application materials include an application, transcript, FAFSA, tax form, W-2 form, and Student Aid Report.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund – College Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund – College Scholarship Fund provides scholarships of $1,000 to $5,000 for undergraduate and graduate education to prospective students of Hispanic heritage who are enrolled on a full-time basis, have completed at least 12 credits at the undergraduate level, and demonstrate financial need. Application materials include an application, transcript, FAFSA, and Student Aid Report. Awardees are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund
The Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund provides 90 scholarships for undergraduate and technical education to enrolled women students age 35 or older who demonstrate financial need.
Linda Lael Miller Scholarships for Women
The Linda Lael Miller Scholarships for Women provides 10-15 scholarships for undergraduate and technical education to enrolled women students age 25 or older who demonstrate financial need.
NAACP – Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship
The NAACP – Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship provides 20-40 scholarships of $1,500 to $2,500 for undergraduate and graduate education to students age 24 or younger who are NAACP members and demonstrate financial need. Application materials include an application, transcript, three letters of recommendation, and tax forms. Awardees are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation
The Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation provides five scholarships with a maximum value of $5,000 for undergraduate and technical education to enrolled women students with dependent children who demonstrate financial need.
PEO International Sisterhood – Program for Continuing Education
The PEO International Sisterhood – Program for Continuing Education provides scholarships with a maximum value of $3,000 for undergraduate and technical education to women whose education has been interrupted, sponsored by a PEO Chapter, and demonstrate financial need. Application materials are due by 2-4 months prior to the start of the academic term. An interview is required.
Possible Woman Foundational International – Possible Woman Scholarships
The Possible Woman Foundational International – Possible Woman Scholarships provides scholarships for undergraduate and graduate education to women in nontraditional fields.
ROSE Scholarship – ROSE Fund
The ROSE Scholarship – ROSE Fund provides scholarships with a maximum value of $1,000 for undergraduate education to women survivors of domestic violence who have completed at least one year at the undergraduate level, attend school in the Northeast, and are nominated. Application materials including an application and transcript are accepted on a rolling basis.
Scholarship Workshop – Leading the Future II
Scholarship Workshop – Leading the Future II provides 3 scholarships for undergraduate education to enrolled students involved in community service and demonstrate leadership potential.
Soroptimist – Live Your Dream AwardThe Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award provides 1,200 scholarships with an average value of $4,000 for undergraduate and technical education to enrolled women students who are primary household earners and demonstrate financial need. Application materials include an application and two letters of recommendation.
Delaware Scholarships
State of Delaware – Scholarship Incentive Program
The State of Delaware – Scholarship Incentive Program provides scholarships of $700 to $2,200 based on GPA for undergraduate education to prospective or enrolled students on a full-time basis who attend or will attend an institution in DE or PA, reside in DE, and demonstrate financial need. Awardees are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Massachusetts Scholarships
Community Foundation of Western MA
Community Foundation of Western MA provides 800 scholarships of $1,000 for undergraduate and graduate education to residents of Western MA and Hartford County, CT. Contact the Foundation for additional eligibility information. Application materials include an application, transcript, and Student Aid Report.
Early Childhood Educators Scholarship Program
Early Childhood Educators Scholarship Program provides scholarships of $500 to $1,500 per term to residents of Massachusetts. Applicants must be employed for at least one year as an educator or provider in an early education and care program. Students must not yet have earned a bachelor's degree, and must agree to work in Massachusetts upon graduation.
Texas Scholarships
American Business Women's Association – Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund
The American Business Women's Association – Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fundprovides 1 scholarship of $1,500 for undergraduate and graduate education to an enrolled woman student who has completed at least 60 credits at the undergraduate level. Awardees are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Community Foundation of Greater Houston – Nancy D. Palm Scholarship
Community Foundation of Greater Houston – Nancy D. Palm Scholarship provides scholarships of $1,000 to $4,000 for undergraduate and graduate education to elementary education students attending a Texas-based institution.
The Professional Group
The Professional Group provides scholarships to nontraditional women students. Scholarship information is restricted to The Professional Group members.
Wisconsin Scholarships
Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin – Peter Freidrich Scholarship
The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin – Peter Freidrich Scholarship provides one scholarship of $1,000 for undergraduate education to a resident of Portage County, Wis., who has a documented learning or physical disability and demonstrates financial need.
Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin – Ryan Wanta Scholarship
The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin – Ryan Wanta Scholarship provides one scholarship of $500 for undergraduate education to a student in child care or early childhood education who resides in Portage County, Wis., and demonstrates financial need.
