Student Advocates for Wellness
The Student Advocates for Wellness are the peer educators at Springfield College. The mission of the Student Advocates for Wellness is to educate the campus community about living healthy lives.
The Student Advocates inform their peers how to balance the elements of a healthy lifestyle in fun and engaging ways. They focus on the full complement of health and wellness in line with the Humanics philosophy of integration of spirit, mind, and body. The Student Advocates for Wellness help students make healthier choices by improving knowledge, awareness, and informed decision-making.
The peer wellness educators are certified as Certified Peer Educators (CPE) through the BACCHUS Initiatives of NASPA. CPE training helps peer educators develop leadership skills to be able to successfully develop and implement campus programs.
The peer wellness educators assist the office of Alcohol & Other Drug Education and Health Promotion in planning, implementing, and evaluating health and wellness programs throughout campus.
You may see Student Advocates for Wellness doing a program in a residence hall, presenting to one of your classes, tabling in the Union, or working events on campus. If you do, be sure to stop and say hi. You’ll probably walk away with great information and free stuff!
