The MS in Sport Science at Springfield College prepares students to work in collegiate or professional athletics with the ability to collect, analyze, and present data to sport coaches, athletic trainers, and other members of a high-performance team. Students in sport science will be provided the flexibility to choose courses to enhance their preexisting skills, fill gaps within their previous education, or focus specifically on their future professional goals.
In this program you will receive a core education in exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, and statistical analysis that will prepare you to excel in the emerging field of sport science. You will learn from professors who are also active practitioners in sports performance and sport science, providing a blend of academic knowledge and real-world expertise. You will gain hands-on experience using various sport technologies with athletic teams, enhancing your practical skills. Additionally, you will have access to a vast network of high-performance sport professionals, both nationally and internationally, which can be invaluable for internships and professional networking. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to explore a research question that is personally and professionally meaningful, applying your scientific and analytical skills to prepare for a successful future career.
Students who complete this program will be encouraged to sit for the Certified Professional in Sports Science (CPSS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Exercise physiologists work to improve people’s overall health. Many of their clients have chronic medical conditions, such as pulmonary (lung) disease. Exercise physiologists provide health education and exercise plans to help clients improve their respiratory, circulatory, and other systems.
