Weather Alert

Due to the recent winter storm that brought significant snowfall on Sunday and Monday, Springfield College will operate remotely on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. This decision prioritizes the safety of our community and allows Facilities staff the necessary time to clear parking lots and sidewalks. The campus will reopen on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. About This Program
Program Contact
Springfield College students study in the Harold C. Smith Learning Commons on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

No matter your major, you can develop your creativity and writing skills through the Springfield College Creative Writing minor. Students gain experience writing in a variety of forms and genres, including poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction.

Through small, supportive workshops, students and faculty specialists respond to and critique each other’s work. These workshops are combined with additional courses in literary study in order for students to gain background and skills that can inform their own creative writing choices. The strong writing and communication skills developed through the minor are valued by employers and can provide the key to successful communication in the workplace.
