Thank you for your interest in a summer camp position at Camp Massasoit. Our staff is a select team of individuals carefully chosen for their enthusiasm, leadership skills, and dedication to providing the highest quality camp experience to our campers and the overall program.


About Camp Massasoit

Camp Massasoit is a multi-recreational and educational camp for boys and girls ages 5 to 16 years, located on the East Campus of Springfield College. Through our programming, we strive to provide a character-developing environment that embodies Springfield College’s Humanics mission of equally educating the spirit, mind, and body.

We have four camp offerings.

Day Camp

  • Ages 5 to 12
  • Activities include challenge course, swimming, boating, archery, nature, and outdoor skills, games, arts and crafts, and themed “All Camp” days

Adventure Camps: Voyager Camp, Walk-A-Bout Camp, Adventure Camp

  • Ages 11 to 16, ages vary by program

  • Campers work toward becoming independent adventurers through activities and teambuilding exercises. Adventure camp includes an overnight.


We operate for nine weeks each summer, which includes a week of staff training and four, two-week sessions. In 2019, our staff-training week will be June 17 through June 21, covering approximately 40 hours of training. Our day camp is operational Monday through Friday, June 24 through Aug. 16, 2019.


Review our downloadable forms for all of the documents necessary to compile a complete application packet. All of this information will better educate you about our summer programs, including our philosophy, mission, and goals.

New Staff Members

Please complete the new staff application, provide three written reference forms, an essay, and an activity plan. Once all of this has been received by our office, an interview may be offered. If not, a letter will be sent thanking you for taking the time to apply.

Returning Staff Members

Please complete the returning staff application. Returning staff members who are looking for a different position at camp must also submit a new activity plan that corresponds to the new position you’re looking to fulfill.

Next Steps

Employment decisions will be made after the interview process is completed and all references have been contacted. If the decision is made to offer you a position, we will contact you and send employment agreement to the address listed on your application. If employment is not offered, we will contact you by mail.
