Message From President Cooper

To Our Campus Community,

As many of you may know, there was an incident on Alden Street tonight at around 8:15 p.m. involving Springfield Police. Our Springfield Campus Police assisted as two suspects were apprehended after a targeted narcotics arrest that started at the X in the City of Springfield and ended near Lot 15 on Alden Street.

Our students, faculty, staff, and guests are safe and in no danger. While Alden Street will remain closed for several hours to vehicle traffic, pedestrian traffic is allowed on the street. I spoke with Mayor Domenic Sarno and Springfield Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood and they confirm there was no shooting on campus and at no time were our students in danger.
