Springfield College Pre-Camp 2021 Energizes Campus
One of the great Springfield College traditions started on Tuesday, August 31, as the return of Pre-Camp has energized the Springfield College campus. Pre-Camp is a student-run program for first-year Springfield College students designed to help them get a head start in making friends with their peers, it helps students familiarize themselves with the college experience, and helps them gain a sense of self-assurance and confidence.
Pre-Camp leaders work with first-year students and help them understand that attending college is a tremendous change with some students leaving home for the very first time. Pre-Camp provides a unique and fun experience that encourages reflection and acceptance. Pre-Camp allows students to get a head start on their college experience.
During Pre-Camp, students spend four days and three nights at East Campus, a section of Springfield College located a mile and a half away from the main campus. East Campus is a nature zone with outdoor sleeping facilities as well as hiking trails, picnic areas, wide-open fields, and a waterfront.
