Program Goals | Springfield College

The Counseling Psychology PsyD program is organized around two major training goals:

  1. To prepare entry-level counseling psychologists who are well-trained and competent in both the practice and science of the profession.
  2. To prepare counseling psychologists who are leaders in the field, especially as it relates to serving culturally diverse and marginalized populations.

Student mastery of these overarching goals is promoted through specific training objectives and assessed through a variety of competency assessment activities.
