Academics at Springfield College

Springfield College is proud of the diversity and quality of its academic programs. The College offers bachelor’s degrees in more than 40 majors, master’s degrees in 12 different fields, and doctoral programs in counseling psychology, physical therapy, and physical education. With a student-to-faculty member ratio of 13-to-1, our students receive the individual attention and guidance needed to be successful. Recognized by the Carnegie Foundation for its success in community engagement, the College is committed to service and offers students a unique pathway to rewarding careers and lives of purpose.

The undergraduate programs at the College provide students with the skills and liberal arts foundation needed to enhance their critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities. In the classroom and through internships, fieldwork, and clinical experiences, students gain real-world experience in their desired field well before graduation. The success of our graduates in gaining employment and in being accepted for graduate study provides strong evidence of the usefulness of a Springfield College bachelor’s degree.

The College’s graduate programs are equally distinguished. All graduate programs offered are fully accredited both by our regional accreditation association and by specialized accreditors in each discipline that have been approved by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. Graduates of these programs are well prepared for their professions and extremely successful in passing required licensure examinations. For example, 100 percent of our physician assistant program graduates have passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam on the first try in each of the past seven years.

At both the undergraduate and graduate degree levels, Springfield College offers students quality academic programs that are relevant to the needs of our rapidly changing world. The unique sense of community on our campus provides every student with the opportunity to meet their full potential in a supportive environment and our rigorous academic programs challenge them to grow both personally and professionally. The College has remained true to its mission since 1885 “to educate students in spirit, mind and body for leadership in service to humanity,” and our academic programs help prepare our graduates for leadership roles in their professions and in their communities.
