East Campus Graduate Associateship

Primary Responsibilities

  • Program development for experiential education opportunities
  • Documentation management for Challenge Course operations
  • Staff management with Challenge Course Facilitators
  • Mentor and develop Challenge Course Student Facilitators
  • Work and collaborate well with other members of the East Campus staff
  • Be a dynamic and creative individual

The position reports to the Assistant Director and Director of East Campus and would support multiple areas. Within this role the graduate fellow would staff all internal and external events, provide programming to these groups to maintain ratios set forth by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, aid in the oversight of facility management, support the administrative needs of Camp Massasoit and Outdoor Pursuits, and ensure quality customer service to users.  

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Upkeep of East Campus Office operations
  • Data Entry for East Campus and Camp Massasoit
  • Event management and hospitality services with outside groups
  • Other office management tasks, such as copying, filing, etc.

Fellowship Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Challenge course facilitation experience (ACCT Level 1 or equivalent)
  • Capacity for mentoring new facilitators and managing staff on the challenge course
  • Outdoor skill instruction with participants ages 6-25 years old
  • Staffing and event management experience
  • Office managerial experience
  • Basic first aid and CPR

Position Requirements:

The Fellow must be a full-time graduate student at Springfield College and in good standing academically in their respective program of study.  The Fellow must be a motivated individual able to manage their time effectively and work independently.  A passion for the outdoors and a desire to teach others safe and responsible use of the outdoors preferred.
