Primary Responsibilities:

The Study Abroad Assistant in the International Center is responsible for assisting the staff of the International Center with the day-to-day operations, including advising study abroad applicants both in small groups and one-to-one, management of study abroad application files, preparation of study abroad fairs, participation in College Open House Fairs on 2-4 weekend days per year, and assistance with pre-departure orientation programs.

Secondary Responsibilities: 

  • Meet with prospective study abroad students to initiate the application process
  • Advise students through the application process
  • File management for study abroad applicants
  • Contact providers, prepare publicity and arrange for Study Abroad Fairs, Fall and Spring
  • Conduct research and keep records for study abroad
  • Prepare publicity and assist with the organization of information sessions
  • Serve as a resource for interested study abroad students
  • Answer phone and complete other office tasks at the request of the Administrative Assistant

Fellowship Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Good English communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • International experiences (e.g. international student, study abroad, extensive travel or living abroad)
  • Computer skills
  • Driver’s license and car a plus
