IRB and Thesis/Dissertation - Graduate Associate

The IRB and Thesis/Dissertation Graduate Associate (GA) supports the work of the Assistant Director for Research, Grants, and Educational Development within the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship (CETLS). The GA assists in the oversight of research involving human subjects, the purview of the Institutional Review Board, and the final edits of theses and dissertations written by our graduates. The GA conducts the first review of all incoming applications to the Institutional Review Board, the APA format check of all theses and dissertation submissions, including managing all associated tracking, archive, and related administrative work. The GA also supports Scholars in Action Days in the spring semester, and other administrative duties within CETLS as assigned.


Fellowship Required Qualifications

Position Requirements: 

  • Ideal candidates would have some longevity in this role and thus we are looking for students who will be available for two years or more.
  • This role utilizes a wide variety of technologies and software platforms. Ideal candidates should have a good familiarity with using technology and a good comfort level to learn new software
  • Successful applicants for this position need to be in good academic standing. New graduate students or graduate students currently in their program need a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher.

Fellowship Preferred Qualifications

Candidates for this position should be motivated, organized, detail oriented, and have previous experience in writing and editing academic papers in APA format and/or technical documents. This position can be challenging with the high volume of communications, follow up with faculty and student clients, and prioritizing numerous projects and tasks. Some experience with human subjects research protocols and best practices is a plus. Preference is given to doctoral/PhD students who can serve in the position for 2-3 years.
