Primary Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities must be associated with teaching and/or research.  The fellow must be engaged and working with the faculty member to assist in lab or classroom instruction.  Duties may include any of the following:

  • Primary or secondary responsibility for classroom or laboratory instruction.
  • Responsibility for tutoring or assisting students who need additional help or resources.
  • Responsibility for grading quizzes/tests/ or course assignments.
  • Responsibility for creating instructional materials for the course; including the development or rubrics.
  • Assist with students at the public school who may need extra assistance while undergraduates teach.
  • Grade reflections, class assignments and lesson plans/reflections per lab day. Lesson plans are extensive and take approximately 30-45+ minutes to grade.
  • Field questions and emails regarding class material, lab, etc.
  • Manage student Google Drive accounts as well as all folders in the account
  • ​Provide feedback to lab students during their teaching experiences out at

the school.

  • ​Meet with students regarding teaching strategies, concerns and questions they

may have.

  • ​Pick up and drive van with students to schools
  • Observe and provide feedback to students teaching lessons

Secondary Responsibilities: 

Secondary responsibilities can include administrative tasks.  However these tasks cannot constitute the majority of the responsibilities of the fellow (generally not to exceed 35 or 40 percent).  Duties can include:

  • Administrative responsibilities associated with recruitment of students;
  • Administrative responsibilities associated with preparing to take students out into community settings.
  • Assisting the faculty member with doing administrative duties associated with research, such as data entry. 
  • Other office management tasks, such as copying, filing, etc.

Assist in development and create new grading sheets as well as descriptions of assignments for ​the students.

​Assist in developing content for lecture and lab; gather materials, set up and

co-teach or facilitate activities within the class period.


Fellowship Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

Provide a specific list of qualifications that are required for the position.  These qualifications should be focused on the student’s qualifications to perform the primary job responsibilities.  Administrative qualifications should not be emphasized.

  • Background or interest in Adapted PE.

Position Requirements:

Provide any specific position requirements. Is the position only open to students from particular program?  Does the person have to hold specific certifications or need to be able to obtain driver safety certification through the college.

  • Certified PE license
  • Valid US Driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain driver safety certification
