Sport and Exercise Psychology Fellowship

Primary Responsibilities (80%)     

Teaching

Assisting with classroom instruction (e.g., grading quizzes/tests or other course assignments).

Scheduling and maintaining regular office hours for tutoring or assisting students who need additional help or resources.

Assisting with fieldwork sites and applied observations.

This fellowship position may require primary instruction of course(s) at the College that align with the fellow’s experience/preparation, depending upon scheduling need.

Research

Assist with scholarly activity, to include; preparing materials for IRB review, participant recruitment and scheduling, data collection, data entry, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.

Assist in the provision of applied sport and exercise psychology services (e.g. behavioral interventions) with local entities and for field based research studies.

Assist with preparation of grant submissions to funding agencies and foundations.

 

Secondary Responsibilities (20%)

Assist with coordination and record keeping pertaining to student progress and outcomes.

Assist with program evaluation and assessment of the graduate program objectives and outcomes.

Assist the program director in the areas of program recruitment and retention, which may include representing the program at open houses and off-campus recruiting events, managing inquiries and applications, maintaining a social media presence and alumni connection for the program, and meeting with potential students during campus visits.

 


Fellowship Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications

The graduate teaching fellow for this position must have a strong background in Exercise and Sport Psychology. Willingness to participate in scholarly research, which may include early morning, evening, and/or weekend activities, is required.

Position Requirements

The Fellow must be a full-time graduate student at Springfield College in good standing and in a field of study related to the fellowship.
