Strength and Conditioning Clinical Educator
Primary Responsibilities:
- Each Graduate Fellow’s (GF) main responsibility will be working as a clinical educator. They will work daily with students enrolled in AEXS 681 (Strength and Conditioning Internship) and AEXS 284 (On-Campus Practicum) which represent approximately 50 students total. This component comprises over 75% of their overall responsibilities.
- Each GF will be assigned 1-5 students interns enrolled in AEXS 681 for each of the 4-5 athletic teams they are training.
- GF’s must meet with the student interns they are supervising for 30 minutes prior to each training session to teach and explain all techniques and coaching cues that will be utilized during the session.
- GF’s must meet with the student interns they are supervising for 15-30 minutes following each training session to reflect on the session and receive feedback from each intern.
- GF’s must meet with the student interns they are supervising for approximately 1 hour each 2 weeks to discuss the development of each new microcycle of training for each team they are training.
- GF’s complete written intern evaluations 3 times a semester for each intern they are supervising. They must also meet individually with each intern to discuss the evaluation.
- GF’s meet with AEXS 284 practicum students before each session they are observing to explain the training session. They will also meet with each student following the session to answer questions.
- GF’s are assigned the responsibility to teach AEXS 471 (Applications in Strength and Conditioning)
- GF’s assist in teaching all practical experience sessions in AEXS 470 and AEXS 670, the undergraduate and graduate strength and conditioning courses.
Secondary Responsibilities:
·Assist in strength and conditioning program design and implementation with the athletic teams.
·GF’s are required to conduct weekly in-service presentations to fellow students on Friday’s from 1-2pm.
Fellowship Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Position Requirement: Students must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in the graduate strength and conditioning program.
