Graduate Associate - Student Affairs
This Graduate Associate position supports the Office of Non-Discrimination Initiatives/Title IX and
Student Employment within the division of Campus Life & Inclusion. The Graduate Associate reports to
the Director of Non-Discrimination Initiatives/Title IX Coordinator and collaborates with other campus
stakeholders to provide administrative and programmatic support for students from protected classes
(race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression,
disability, veteran status) and sexual violence prevention education. Additionally, the Graduate Associate
has a dotted supervision line to the Student Employment Manager and assists with the student
employment recruitment and hiring process.

Position Responsibilities related to ONDI:

  • Maintain Title IX social media accounts by creating content and engaging with various audiences
  • Create prevention and education programming related to sexual and gender-based misconduct
    and bias incidents
  • Coordinate mandatory online training compliance (Vector Solutions) for all students
  • Assist with administering and analyzing the campus-wide Sexual Misconduct Climate Survey
    (bi-annual requirement)
  • Assist with various policy research and development to create a more equitable campus
  • Support campus compliance initiatives with the Clery Act, Title IX, Violence Against Women Act
    (VAWA), etc.
  • Serve as a member of the Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT) representing graduate students
  • Other duties as assigned based on individual’s strengths and office needs

Position Responsibilities related to Student Employment:

  • Assist students with questions regarding how to navigate Student PrideNet and how to complete
    the onboarding process (i.e. Filling out their relevant forms including the W-4)
  • Collect, sort and organize new hire documents received from students
  • Update Powerfaids shared Google Doc with financial aid as hire paperwork is received
  • Assist with communicating with students and student hiring managers regarding hire status, new
    hire outstanding documents, background status and any other communications as requested
  • Assist with organizing student employment publications, career fairs, and training students on
    Banner time and attendance
  • Assist with updating Student PrideNet documents
  • Other duties as assigned based on individual’s strengths and office needs

Fellowship Required Qualifications

  • The GA must be a full-time graduate student at Springfield College in good standing in a relevant
    field of study.
  • Commitment to diversity and understanding of strengths and challenges for students from
    marginalized and protected classes. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills to work effectively with
    students, faculty, staff, and the community.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to conduct oneself in a highly professional and
    ethical manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs, Google suite, Canva, and social media platforms.
  • Experience with creating and implementing educational and social programs, and community
    building.
  • Flexibility to meet night and weekend programming needs.
