Student Affairs Graduate Associate
This Graduate Associate position serves a dual role in the division of Student Affairs, supporting both the Office of Non-Discrimination Initiatives and the Center for Veterans and Military Services.
The Graduate Associate dually reports to the Director of Non-Discrimination Initiatives/Title IX Coordinator and Director of the Center for Service and Leadership and collaborates with other campus stakeholders such as Dean of Students, Office of Admissions,, Office of Spiritual Life, and the ROTC Program to provide administrative and programmatic support for students from protected classes (race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, veteran status)..
Office of Non-Discrimination Initiatives Responsibilities:
- Maintain Title IX social media accounts by creating content and engaging with various audiences
- Create prevention and education programming related to sexual and gender-based misconduct and bias incidents
- Coordinate mandatory online training compliance (Vector Solutions) for all students
- Assist with various policy research and development to create a more equitable campus
- Support campus compliance initiatives with the Clery Act, Title IX, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), etc.
- Serve as a member of the Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT)
- Other duties as assigned based on individuals strengths and office needs
Center for Veterans and Military Services Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain veterans and military connected student services social media accounts
- Assist with information updates and outreach in a variety of formats for veterans and military connected students to keep them informed and connected to the campus community
- Develop and implement programming for veterans and military connected students
- Assist with staffing the Veteran and Military Services Center for regularly scheduled hours (including opening and closing); advertise and promote the Center’s hours, programs, and services
- Support ROTC initiatives in shared space with ROTC students and staff
- Assist with coordination and promotion of Veterans’ Day ceremony
- Coordinate with the Office of admissions and other departments to host prospective veteran and military connected students for campus visits
- Support and assist with other service related activities through the Center for Service and Leadership

Prior or current military affiliation or connection Position Requirements: The GA must be a full-time graduate student at Springfield College in good standing in a relevant field of study. Preference is given to students from the Student Affairs Administration program, those students in behavior/social science fields, or students with prior or current military affiliation.
