Student Basic Needs Coordinator
Primary Responsibilities:
To provide ongoing support and assistance with providing resources to meet the basic needs of students. This includes:
- Manage the operations of the Mary Ann Coughlin Pride Pantry, the on-campus food pantry that services students, faculty and staff experiencing food insecurity.
- Manage the online ordering and curbside pickup program for those unable to shop during open hours.
- Recruit, train and supervise student volunteers to serve at the MAC Pride Pantry.
- Utilize PantrySoft (software program) to keep an updated inventory of food in the pantry and to collect data that will inform operations of the pantry.
- Coordinate the intake of food for the pantry including working with the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts to order and pick up food from their warehouse, organizing food drives and other donation events
- Assist the Food Recovery Network student group with their efforts to recover food waste from the dining hall and distribute it through the MAC Pride Pantry.
- Assist with the management of the community garden located at the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement
- Run regular reports through PantrySoft to provide information regarding student use and other types of information. Complete monthly reports as required by the Food Bank of Western MA.
- Promote all programs related to food insecurity including the MAC Pride Pantry, Swipe Out Hunger and the Food Recovery Network to students, faculty and staff on campus. Post on the Instagram account for the pantry
- Serve as a member of the Food Coalition group.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other departments to collect donations to maintain a thrift area in the back of the Pride Pantry.
- Work with the Assistant Director of the Center for Service and Leadership to create community partnerships and resources to assist students with housing insecurity, SNAP benefits and other student basic needs.
- Create and maintain a basic needs resource area in the MAC Pride Pantry.
- Work with the Dean of Students to support students in need of assistance.
- Provide information to faculty and staff about available resources and how to support students in need of services.
- Participate in professional development opportunities offered through the Division of Campus Life and Inclusion
- Serve on committees as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications: Position Requirements: Applicants must be matriculated into a graduate program as a full-time student at Springfield College with a preference for a career in higher education.
