Teaching and Research Graduate Fellow

Primary Responsibilities:

The fellow will have primary responsibility for assisting with classroom instruction and research for three faculty members. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Data base search for relevant articles for faculty research
  • Transcribing audio recordings of qualitative interviews
  • Creating instructional materials for research course
  • Assisting faculty with IRB process and Ethics training
  • Assisting faculty with students’ review of the literature

Narrative:

The graduate fellow will assist faculty in conducting database searches for relevant research articles and organizing literature review articles.

The graduate fellow will assist in preparing class materials, conducting specific database searches for class relevant teaching resources, and loading class relevant articles and videos onto Brightspace.

 

Secondary Responsibilities:  

Fellow will assist faculty members with administrative duties. These responsibilities will not exceed 35% of fellow’s time. Duties can include:

  • Administrative responsibilities associated with research, such as data entry
  • Administrative responsibilities associated with classroom instruction
  • Other office management tasks, such as copying, filing, etc.

Fellowship Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a graduate research course
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with the research team, study participants, and students
  • Knowledge of basic research methodology, qualitative and quantitative
  • Research experience preferred

Position Requirements:

  • Enrolled as full-time graduate student in the Springfield College School of Social Work in good standing
  • Knowledge of SPSS, Office, video conference (e.g. skype, facetime)
