Teaching and Research Graduate Fellow

Primary Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities are associated with research and teaching with two faculty members in the Department of Social Work.

Narrative:

The graduate fellow will assist faculty in conducting database searches for relevant research articles and organizing literature review articles.

The graduate fellow will assist in preparing class materials, conducting specific database searches for class relevant teaching resources, and loading class relevant articles and videos onto Brightspace.

 

Secondary Responsibilities:

Fellow will organize, file, and make copies of research materials, schedule field based qualitative interviews, and assist in recruiting research participants (phone calls, flyers, etc.).  Fellow will make copies of class materials and/or scan onto Moodle.     


Fellowship Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness in developing leadership skills
  • Comfort level in working with topics of trauma, youth development, school social work, mediation and conflict resolution, secondary stress and spirituality
  • Enthusiasm for working with and understanding families and children
  • Prior experience working with families and children preferred
  • Strong word processing and computer based skills

Position Requirements:

  • Enrolled as a graduate student in the Springfield College Department of Social Work
  • Available to assist in the weekend program
