The Wellness Passport GA will be responsible for managing logistics and pedagogical support of this new part of a Springfield College education, in addition to teaching in the College’s Wellness domain. The Core Curriculum is a foundational part of a Springfield College education. As a part of that curriculum, students complete a co-curricular Wellness Passport during the later semesters of their time with the College. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Wellness Passport event management. This will include in-person set up to make sure QR code is set and/or make sure attendance is tracked after events. It will also require communication with event organizers across campus
  2. Manage all Wellness Passport events in an online database via Pridenet
  3. Teach and facilitate the Wellness Passport course in Brightspace for ROCE students and students off-campus for internships, study abroad, etc.
  4. Work with advisors to monitor traditional undergrads’ students' progress as they proceed through the Wellness Passport
  5. Work with WLPL/DANC 100, 200, 300 instructors to provide curricular information about Wellness Passport and students’ Wellness Passport plans 
  6. Create modules about the Wellness Passport of WLPL & DANC 300 courses
  7. Teach one 1-credit courses in the three-part wellness domain over the course of the year, following these expectations:
  • Use the provided syllabi as a framework and adjust as needed; submit syllabi for each course taught to chair of PEHE
  • Attend all mandatory meetings/workshops conducted by chair of PEHE
  • Prepare Lesson Plans
  • Adhere to all Institution and School of PEPSL policies.
  • Submit grades
  • Create and maintain a Brightspace classroom for each course taught
  • Hold 5 office hours per week

 

For all responsibilities outside of #7, this position works with the Director of the Core Curriculum and have monthly meetings about the work. Responsibilities with #7 will be to the chair of PEHE. The GA will also work closely with instructors of WLPL and DANC courses in the Wellness domain. 

 


Fellowship Required Qualifications

The GA must be a full-time, advanced graduate student (a doctoral student OR a master’s student who has a teaching license in PE and/or Health) at Springfield College and in good standing academically in their respective program of study. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in an area related to wellness, health, or teaching experience related to wellness, is required. The GA must be a motivated individual able to manage their time effectively and work independently. A passion for wellness and a desire to develop an emerging program is strongly preferred.
