Capo Burdick holds a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Southern Connecticut State University and wrote her dissertation on barriers and influences on parent pre-adolescent communication about sexual relationships and consent. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Capo Burdick has received the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion award honoring the work of Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ) at Springfield College as well as the Early Counselor Educator Research Award for dissertation research by the Connecticut Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (CACES).
