Dr. Angela Campbell has expertise in the acute care and cardiovascular & pulmonary (CVP) areas of physical therapy, teaching this content more than 15 years to physical therapy students and professionals. Dr. Campbell is highly involved in professional service in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the APTA Academy of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Physical Therapy. Roles include Academy: Delegate to the APTA House of Delegates (2020-2024), President (2 terms; 2019-2025), Nominating Committee Chair, Advocacy/ Legislative Chair, ABPTS Clinical Content Expert, ABPTS CVP Specialty Council & Item writer, ABPTRFE Residency Site Reviewer, and Federal Affairs Liaison. She has also served Springfield College in many roles, including 2 terms as Faculty Senate Vice President.
Dr. Campbell’s most recent scholarship has focused on teaching & learning, examining and determining competencies within the field of physical therapy both at the novice (entry-level) and advanced practitioner levels. She was the developer/producer of the Post-Acute Covid Exercise & Rehabilitation (PACER) Project: a pro bono program used to provide clinicians with education to prepare them to treat persons with acute or chronic/post-COVID (aka long covid). Clinically she has worked in the areas of critical care, cystic fibrosis, heart/lung transplant, homecare, and outpatient pulmonary rehab populations. Dr. Campbell has presented peer-reviewed and invited lectures at regional and national conferences.
