Anna Bottino is an assistant professor of Research and Exercise Science at Springfield College. The focus of Bottino’s research is on LGBTQ+ young people’s experiences in sport and physical activity, as well as advancing critical quantitative and qualitative research practices. At Springfield College, Bottino teaches graduate courses in research, sport and exercise psychology, and exercise science. They are a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and an active member of several sport psychology, sociology, physical education, and health organizations. In addition to their academic work, Bottino has extensive experience coaching, consulting, and competing in elite sport contexts. Across these roles, they bring a justice-driven, interdisciplinary perspective to both scholarship and practice.
