Karissa Spurgeon, PsyD, LMHC, is a professor in the Springfield College Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. In addition to teaching, she has worked as a licensed mental health counselor in the western Massachusetts area for more than 10 years. Her area of expertise is working with adolescents and adults who are survivors of complex and developmental trauma. She has had formal training in the following modalities: TFCBT, DBT, SFBT, and EMDR. She is also an independent consultant for the court systems as a trauma expert.
