Michael Theulen’s professional career includes substantial experience in college-level teaching, coaching, and athletic administration. His journey started at Springfield College where, as a tenured faculty member in Physical Education, he taught a variety of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level; was an academic advisor; and served first as the women’s basketball coach and then the men’s basketball coach, along with other departmental administrative responsibilities for 15 years. Upon leaving Springfield, he was the Director of Athletics at Western New England University for 19 years. After a brief retirement, Theulen served as the director of Athletics at Elms College for four years before returning to Springfield College as a member of the Sport Management faculty in 2023.
