Olivia Wetmore ‘22
As a prospective student, Olivia Wetmore ‘22 visited numerous colleges with occupational therapy programs, but none of them had the same sense of community she felt when she came to Springfield College for a campus visit.
That sense of community—combined with a strong academic program and a generous financial aid package made possible by donors like you—made Springfield College the obvious choice for Olivia.
What Olivia likes most about being an occupational therapy student is the welcoming faculty and excellent facilities, like the cadaver laboratory she experienced during her clinical human anatomy class.
“I’m getting an experience here that I wouldn’t be able to get at a different school,” she said.
Outside of the classroom, Olivia lives out the Humanics tradition as president of the Best Buddies Club. The club partners students with local residents with various disabilities, including conditions such as Down syndrome, autism, and others.
“We plan activities with them and it’s great because sometimes they need that extra friend. I still talk with my buddy on Facebook and she’s just the sweetest person,” Olivia said.
Whether it’s making new friends through the Best Buddies Club, learning about human anatomy, or using the Academic Success Center, the resources at Springfield College have shaped Olivia into the person she is today.
“All of the things that we have on campus help me become a better student and a better individual,” she said. “I love Springfield College.”
