Linda C. Davis-Delano, PhD, professor of physical education and director of educator preparation and licensure, received the Joseph McKenney Award presented by Massachusetts Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (MAHPERD) in March 2021. In recognition of distinguished service, the Joseph McKenney Award is the highest award that MAHPERD can bestow on a member.

In December 2020, Alice Fiddian-Green, PhD, assistant professor of health promotion, had her article “Restor(y)ing health: A conceptual model of the effects of digital storytelling on socio-emotional wellbeing” included on the Health Promotion Practice Journal editor's list of top 20 publications published in that journal in the last 20 years.

Christine T. Johnston, MPH, assistant director of alcohol and other drug education and health promotion, received the Doris Michiko Ching Excellence in Student Affairs Award at the virtual NASPA Region 1 Conference in November 2020. At the same conference, she also received the Mid-Level Student Affairs Professional Award for Massachusetts.

Brian Thompson, PhD, professor of exercise science and director of strength and conditioning, was named the 2021 College Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in January 2021. The award is given to an outstanding NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® to recognize their dedication to improving athletic performance with safe and effective science-based programs.

Sofija Zagarins, PhD, assistant professor of public health, was inducted into the Delta Omega National Honorary Society in Public Health in June 2020.
