The Springfield College Department of Sport Management and Recreation hosted the 22nd Annual Weckwerth Lecture on Wednesday, April 5. This year's keynote speaker was delivered by Jen Compton, vice president of Innovation & Brand, for the TD Garden.

Compton discussed the importance of innovation in TD Garden’s expansion and development of the Hub on Causeway project in Boston. She described her role, and how innovation and brand led to enhancing both Boston’s image and TD Garden’s.

Compton, former vice president of marketing for the Boston Bruins, is a 2016 SportsBusiness Journal Game Changers/Women in Sports Award winner.

The Weckwerth Lecture is named in honor of the late Charles F. Weckwerth, who was a distinguished Springfield College professor of Humanics.
