Please join us for a showing of the film Shattered Ice, written and produced by Springfield College alumnus Jake Miskin ’13

Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 5:30 PM
Appleton Auditorium, Fuller Arts Center

The film is a story centered on a small-town New England teenage hockey player’s attempt to navigate high school life when his best friend dies by suicide.

The goal of the film is to normalize the conversations around suicide, raise awareness, tell a powerful story, and send a message to other teenagers/young adults that there is light at the end of the tunnel, even in the darkest times.

Miskin is the founder of Nehoiden Street Films, and the organization is partnering with The Hidden Opponent to hold showings of the film across New England. Springfield College will be the first college on the tour to show the film.

We welcome you to stay for a panel discussion following the film.

This event is free and open to the Springfield College community.

Co-sponsored by the Springfield College Department of Athletics, Department of Sport Management and Recreation, Office of Health Promotion, Counseling Center, and several of our student Clubs and Organizations.
